How to do it

Stand holding an EZ bar with an overhand grip on the angled bends, palms facing down and arms hanging in front of you. Keeping your elbows pinned to your sides, curl the bar up toward your shoulders by flexing your elbows, then lower it slowly back to the start. The pronated grip shifts the work to your forearms and brachialis.

  1. 1Feel your forearms and outer biceps working with the palms-down grip
  2. 2Keep your elbows pinned to your sides and wrists firm
  3. 3Squeeze at the top and lower slowly to load the eccentric

Common mistakes

  • Don't swing the weight or use your shoulders to lift
  • Avoid letting your wrists bend or roll under the bar
  • Don't let your elbows drift forward as you curl
