How to do it

Move into the stretch position slowly until you feel a gentle pull on the target muscle. Hold the stretch while breathing deeply, avoiding any bouncing or pain.

  1. 1Feel a gentle stretch along the top of your forearm as you flex your wrist downward
  2. 2Keep your elbow straight and shoulder relaxed while holding the stretch
  3. 3Breathe deeply and hold for several seconds to feel the muscle lengthen

Common mistakes

  • Avoid overextending your wrist to the point of pain; ease into the stretch
  • Don't shrug your shoulder or tense your neck
  • Avoid bouncing; hold a steady stretch
