How to do it
Stand tall holding a dumbbell in each hand with arms extended down at your sides and palms facing in. Slowly rotate your forearms to turn the palms forward and back, controlling the dumbbells through the full range of pronation and supination. Keep your elbows pinned to your ribs the whole time.
- 1Feel the forearm muscles working as you twist the dumbbells palm-up and
- 2palm-down
- 3Keep your elbows fixed at your sides so only the forearms move
- 4Control the rotation in both directions rather than letting the weight swing
Common mistakes
- Don't let your elbows drift forward or flare out
- Avoid using shoulder or torso movement to turn the weights
- Don't rush the rotation; keep tension through the full turn
