How to do it
Sit upright on a bench with a dumbbell in each hand resting on your thighs, palms facing down. Raise both arms straight in front of you to shoulder height, then lower under control. Sitting takes leg drive out so the front delts do the work.
- 1Feel your front delts lift the weights to shoulder height
- 2Keep your palms down and a slight bend in your elbows
- 3Brace your core and keep your torso still as you raise
Common mistakes
- Don't swing the weights or lift above shoulder level
- Avoid leaning back or rocking to get the dumbbells up
- Don't shrug your shoulders toward your ears
