How to do it
Drape your upper arms over the angled side of a preacher bench, holding a dumbbell in each hand with palms facing down. Curl the weights up by flexing your elbows, then lower slowly until your arms are nearly straight. The reverse grip loads the forearms and brachialis under a strict, supported position.
- 1Feel your forearms and brachialis working with the palms-down grip
- 2Keep your upper arms flat on the pad through the whole rep
- 3Lower slowly to a near-full stretch without bouncing
Common mistakes
- Don't lift your elbows off the pad or swing your body
- Avoid letting your wrists roll up; keep a strict pronated grip
- Don't cut the range short at the bottom
