Does a short walk earn gems?
An activity has to last at least 10 minutes before it earns gems for the time you spent. A 1 minute walk earns no gems.
XP works differently. An activity earns XP by the minute, counted from the first minute, so a short walk still earns some.
Once an activity passes 10 minutes, it earns gems for its length like any other one.
The 10 minute rule is about gems only. It does not change the XP you earn from a short activity.
