How to do it
Get into a push-up position and place your weight on the backs of your hands or your fingertips so the load runs through your wrists and forearms. Lower a short way and press back up, building wrist and forearm strength.
- 1Forearms and wrists working hard to support and press your weight
- 2A tight core and level hips holding a straight body line
- 3Controlled, short reps that keep tension on the wrists
Common mistakes
- Loading the wrists too fast; build the range up slowly
- Letting your hips sag or your head crane forward
- Bouncing at the bottom instead of pressing under control
Muscles worked
The wrist push-up mainly works the forearms, with the triceps, mid chest, upper chest, lower chest, upper abs, and front delts assisting.
