How to do it
Stand tall holding a dumbbell or plate in each hand at the front of your thighs, palms facing down. Raise your arms straight in front of you to shoulder height with a slight bend in your elbows, then lower with control. Keep your torso still and let your front delts do the lifting.
- 1Raise the weight in front of you and feel your front delts working
- 2Keep your palms down and a slight bend in your elbows as you lift
- 3Engage your core and keep your shoulders down as you lower
Common mistakes
- Do not swing the weight or lift higher than shoulder level
- Avoid shrugging your shoulders or leaning back to cheat the rep
- Do not lock your elbows; keep a soft bend throughout
