How to do it

Stand tall with your arms down in front of you, palms facing in. Raise both arms straight out in front to shoulder height while twisting your torso slightly to one side, then lower and alternate the twist. Keep a soft bend in the elbows throughout.

  1. 1Feel your front delts lifting the arms to shoulder height
  2. 2Let your obliques control the small twist of the torso
  3. 3Keep your shoulders down and away from your ears

Common mistakes

  • Don't swing the arms above shoulder level or lean back
  • Avoid over-rotating the torso into the twist
  • Don't shrug the traps up as you raise the arms

Muscles worked

The twist front raise mainly works the front delts, with the obliques, upper abs, lower abs, and side delts assisting.
