How to do it

Stand tall with your arms at your sides. Keeping your arms straight, raise them forward and all the way overhead until your hands point to the ceiling, then lower them back down under control.

  1. 1Feel the front of your shoulders lift the arms overhead
  2. 2Keep your arms straight through the full range
  3. 3Reach tall at the top without arching the back

Common mistakes

  • Do not arch your lower back to swing the arms up
  • Avoid shrugging your shoulders early in the lift
  • Do not use momentum to throw the arms up
