How to do it
Hold a light weight or your hands in front of your thighs and bend your knees into a quarter squat, keeping your chest up. Holding that slight squat, raise your arms straight in front of you to shoulder height, then lower with control while staying in the squat position throughout the set.
- 1Feel your front delts lift your arms to shoulder height
- 2Feel your quads holding the steady quarter-squat position
- 3Keep your core braced and shoulders down as you raise
Common mistakes
- Don't swing your arms or lift above shoulder level
- Avoid shrugging your shoulders or leaning back
- Don't stand up out of the squat as you raise the arms
