How to do it

Stand facing a wall and pin a massage ball between the wall and the upper-inner corner of your shoulder blade, near the base of your neck. Lean in and slowly roll over the levator scapulae, pausing on tight spots to release.

  1. 1A release where your neck meets the top of the shoulder blade
  2. 2Firm pressure that eases as you breathe into it
  3. 3The tight band along the upper-inner shoulder letting go

Common mistakes

  • Do not press directly on the spine or the side of the neck
  • Avoid sharp pressure near the neck; keep it gentle
  • Do not rush; let each spot release before moving
