How to do it

Lie face down with a stability ball or massage ball placed below the hip bone, off to the side of the navel where the hip flexor sits deep. Ease your weight onto the ball gradually and breathe to release the iliopsoas, keeping the pressure gentle.

  1. 1A deep, slow release in the front of the hip
  2. 2Pressure that softens as you exhale into it
  3. 3The hip flexor gradually relaxing under the ball

Common mistakes

  • Do not press hard on the abdomen; ease in slowly
  • Avoid pressing directly on the spine or any pulse
  • Do not hold your breath; breathe to let it release
