How to do it
Place a massage ball under the arch of one foot while standing or seated. Press down with controlled body weight and slowly roll the ball from heel to toes, pausing on any tight or tender spots for a few breaths.
- 1A deep release through the arch and bottom of the foot
- 2Pressure that stays firm but tolerable, never sharp
- 3The tension easing as you hold each tender spot
Common mistakes
- Do not press so hard it causes bruising or sharp pain
- Avoid rolling fast; slow pressure does the work
- Do not hold your breath while leaning into a tight spot
Muscles worked
The roll ball foot mainly works the calves.
