How to do it
Hinge forward at the hips with a flat back and let the weight hang at arm's length. Pull the weight toward your torso by squeezing your shoulder blades together. Lower the weight back to the starting position.
- 1Feel your lats and biceps pulling your chest toward the rings
- 2Keep your body in a straight line and squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top
- 3Maintain a neutral wrist and grip to feel the correct muscles working
Common mistakes
- Avoid sagging your hips or flaring your ribs
- Don't jerk or use momentum; control the pull and descent
- Avoid letting your elbows flare out excessively; keep them close
