How to do it

Bunch the fingertips of one hand together and loop a small resistance band around them. Start with your fingers closed against the band, then spread them wide open against the resistance. Open fully, pause, and slowly return to the closed position under control.

  1. 1Feel the muscles on the back of your forearm working as you spread your
  2. 2fingers
  3. 3Spread each finger as far apart as it will go at the top
  4. 4Control the return rather than letting the band snap your fingers shut

Common mistakes

  • Do not rush; the slow return is where most of the work happens
  • Avoid bending only the knuckles; open the whole hand wide
  • Do not use a band so heavy you cannot fully extend
