How to do it
Stand in a boxing stance with knees soft and hands up by your chin. Throw uppercuts as fast as you can, alternating hands, driving each punch up from a slight dip in the legs and a quick hip rotation. Keep the punches sharp and continuous for the work period.
- 1Quick hip rotation snapping each punch upward
- 2Shoulders and arms staying loose so you can move fast
- 3Core firing to stabilize between rapid punches
Common mistakes
- Tensing up and slowing the punches down
- Letting your stance collapse or feet go flat
- Punching only with the arms and ignoring the hips
Muscles worked
The max speed uppercut mainly works the obliques and front delts, with the biceps, triceps, forearms, upper traps, upper abs, lower abs, quads, glutes, calves, side delts, and internal rotators assisting.
