How to do it
Stand on the rear kick machine and place one foot against the lever pad with your standing leg slightly bent. Hold the frame for balance, brace your core, and drive the working leg straight back by squeezing your glute. Pause at full extension, then return under control.
- 1Feel your glute fire as you kick the leg straight back behind you
- 2Keep your torso upright and core braced through the kick
- 3Squeeze hard at the top, then lower the leg slowly
Common mistakes
- Don't arch your lower back to extend the leg further
- Avoid swinging or using momentum to drive the pad
- Don't twist your hips or lean forward to cheat the range
