How to do it
Sit at the plate-loaded high row machine and grip the single handle with an underhand, reverse grip, arm extended overhead and slightly forward. Pull the handle down and back toward your hip, driving the elbow low, then return under control to a full stretch. Complete the set, then switch arms.
- 1Feel your lat contract as you pull the handle down toward your hip
- 2Keep your core tight and chest against the pad to isolate the working side
- 3Squeeze your shoulder blade down and back at the end of the pull
Common mistakes
- Avoid twisting your torso or leaning away to cheat the weight
- Do not shrug your shoulder or bend your wrist
- Do not let the weight yank your arm up; control the return
