How to do it
Sit in the hip abduction machine with the pads against the outside of your thighs and your back flat on the seat. Push your knees apart against the resistance as far as is comfortable, then bring them back together under control.

- 3A controlled return without letting the pads slam shut
Common mistakes
- Do not lean forward or rock your torso to move the pads
- Avoid bouncing at the end of the outward range
- Do not let the weight pull your knees back too fast
