How to do it
Sit in the leverage calf press machine with the balls of your feet on the platform and your heels hanging off the edge. Press the platform away by extending through your toes, raising your heels as high as possible, then lower under control for a deep stretch. Keep your knees in a fixed position throughout.
- 1Feel the burn in your calves as you press through your big toes
- 2Move through a full range of motion, lifting as high as you can
- 3Keep tension on your calves throughout without locking your knees
Common mistakes
- Don't bounce at the bottom or let the weight drop
- Avoid letting your heels dip too far and straining your Achilles
- Don't rush the reps; control both directions
