How to do it
Brace your chest against the pad of the T-bar row machine and grab the handles with an underhand grip. Row the weight toward your lower ribs, driving your elbows back along your sides until your back fully contracts. Lower under control and keep your chest on the pad.
- 1Feel your lats and biceps pull as your elbows drive back along your sides
- 2Keep your chest pinned to the pad and squeeze at the top
- 3Control the lowering phase to hold tension on your back
Common mistakes
- Avoid lifting your chest off the pad or jerking the weight
- Do not shrug your shoulders toward your ears
- Do not let your elbows flare wide; keep them tucked
