How to do it
Sit at a leverage lat pulldown machine and grip the handles with an underhand, shoulder-width grip. Pull the handles down to your upper chest by driving your elbows down and back, squeezing your lats, then return with control to a full stretch.
- 1Your lats driving the pull as your elbows tuck down and back
- 2Shoulder blades pulling down to start each rep
- 3A strong squeeze at the bottom and a controlled stretch on the way up
Common mistakes
- Do not lean back and swing to move the load
- Avoid shrugging your shoulders up at the start of the pull
- Do not pull with your biceps alone; lead with your back
