How to do it
Sit at the lateral high row machine and grab the upper handle with one hand, arm extended forward and slightly overhead. Pull the handle down and back toward your hip, driving your elbow behind you until your lat contracts. Control the return to a full stretch.
- 1Feel your lat and rear shoulder pull the handle down and back
- 2Let the working side stretch fully forward at the top of each rep
- 3Squeeze your shoulder blade toward your spine at the finish
Common mistakes
- Avoid twisting your torso to drag the handle in
- Do not pull mainly with your biceps; lead with the elbow
- Do not let the weight snap your arm back up
