How to do it
Set up in the hip extension machine with the pad against the back of one thigh and your supporting leg fixed. Drive the working leg back and down by squeezing the glute, pause at full extension, then return under control without letting the hip flex too far forward.
- 1Glute squeezing hard at full extension
- 2Hamstring assisting as the leg drives back
- 3Hips and torso held steady against the frame
Common mistakes
- Arching the lower back to push the leg further
- Swinging the leg with momentum
- Rushing the return and losing tension
Muscles worked
