How to do it
Set up on a glute press machine with your foot on the platform and your torso supported on the pads. Drive the platform back and up by extending your hip, squeezing your glute at the top, then return under control. Finish your reps and switch legs.
- 1Feel your glute drive the platform back as your hip extends
- 2Squeeze the glute hard at full extension
- 3Keep your core braced and back flat against the pad
Common mistakes
- Don't arch your lower back to push further
- Avoid letting the weight yank your hip back at the start
- Don't rush; control the platform on the way back in
