How to do it
Sit at the leverage pulldown machine and secure your thighs under the pad. Grip the handles overhead and pull them down toward your upper chest by driving your elbows down and back, then return under control.
- 1Feel your lats stretch at the top and contract as you pull down
- 2Drive your elbows down and back, leading with the upper back
- 3Squeeze your shoulder blades at the bottom and control the return
Common mistakes
- Avoid leaning back hard or using momentum to pull
- Do not shrug your shoulders toward your ears
- Avoid letting the weight yank your arms up; stay in control
