How to do it

Stand inside the plate-loaded leverage deadlift machine and grip the handles with feet hip-width apart. Hinge at the hips with a flat back, then drive through your heels to extend your hips and knees, and lower under control.

  1. 1Feel your hamstrings and glutes fire as you hinge and stand tall
  2. 2Keep your back flat and shoulders down to hold posture
  3. 3Drive through your heels and extend your hips fully at the top

Common mistakes

  • Avoid rounding your back at any point in the lift
  • Do not lock your knees hard; keep a slight bend
  • Avoid jerking the weight; move smoothly through the range
