How to do it
Stand at the plate-loaded leverage row and grip both handles. Hinge slightly at the hips with a braced, neutral spine and pull the handles toward your torso, then lower under control.
- 1Feel your lats and upper back contract as you pull toward your waist
- 2Keep your core braced and spine neutral for stability
- 3Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the top and control the release
Common mistakes
- Avoid rounding your back; hold the hinge position
- Do not shrug or pull with your arms alone; initiate with your back
- Avoid letting the weight drop; control the descent
