How to do it
Stand at an assisted chin-up machine and grab the bar with an underhand, shoulder-width grip. Rest your weight on the assist platform, then pull your chest toward the bar by driving your elbows down, and lower to a full hang.
- 1Your lats and biceps working together to drive you up
- 2A strong squeeze as your chest nears the bar
- 3A full stretch at the bottom of each rep
Common mistakes
- Swinging or kipping off the platform
- Shrugging your shoulders up at the top
- Cutting the range short instead of reaching a full hang
