How to do it
Kneel or stand on the assist platform of the leverage machine and grip the bar with an underhand, shoulder-width grip. Let the counterweight support part of your bodyweight as you pull your chest toward the bar, then lower to a full hang under control.
- 1Biceps and lats working together, with a strong squeeze at the top
- 2Let the assist pad carry just enough weight to finish clean reps
- 3Drive your elbows down and back through the pull
Common mistakes
- Avoid swinging or bouncing off the assist pad
- Do not shrug your shoulders up toward your ears
- Avoid cutting the range short; reach a full hang each rep
