How to do it
Hinge forward at the hips with a flat back, holding a kettlebell in each hand with arms hanging beneath you. With a slight bend in your elbows, raise the kettlebells out to the sides in a wide arc until your arms are level with your torso, squeezing your shoulder blades together. Lower under control.
- 1Your rear delts and upper back contracting as you raise the kettlebells
- 2Your shoulder blades squeezing together at the top
- 3A controlled return with a gentle stretch across the chest
Common mistakes
- Swinging the kettlebells up with momentum or rounding your back
- Shrugging your shoulders or locking your elbows
- Going so heavy that your torso has to rock to lift the weight
Muscles worked
The kettlebell reverse fly mainly works the rear delts and mid traps, with the lower traps assisting.
