How to do it
Stand tall with your arms extended straight out to the sides at shoulder height. Draw large, controlled circles with both arms, moving from the shoulders. Complete your reps forward, then reverse the direction for the same number backward.
- 1Feel your shoulders working to drive the full circle from the joint
- 2Keep your arms long and the circles smooth and controlled
- 3Feel your upper back and shoulders stay engaged the whole range
Common mistakes
- Don't shrug your shoulders up toward your ears
- Avoid bending your elbows or using momentum to whip the arms
- Don't arch your lower back; keep your core braced and torso still
