How to do it
Stand tall holding an EZ bar overhead with a narrow grip on the angled sections. Keep your upper arms vertical and lower the bar behind your head by bending only at the elbows, then press back up to lockout.
- 1Stretch and load through the triceps as the bar lowers behind your head
- 2Keep your upper arms locked in place and pointing at the ceiling
- 3Squeeze the triceps hard to drive the bar back to full lockout
Common mistakes
- Don't let your elbows flare wide or drift forward as you press
- Avoid arching your lower back to cheat the weight up
- Don't bounce at the bottom; control the stretch
