How to do it
Sit upright on a bench holding an EZ bar overhead with a close grip on the angled bends, arms extended. Keeping your upper arms fixed and close to your head, bend at the elbows to lower the bar behind your head until you feel a stretch in your triceps. Extend your elbows to press the bar back overhead and squeeze your triceps at the top.
- 1Feel a deep stretch in your triceps as the bar lowers behind your head
- 2Keep your upper arms locked next to your head, only forearms move
- 3Squeeze your triceps to press the bar back to full extension
Common mistakes
- Don't let your elbows flare wide as you lower the bar
- Avoid arching your lower back to press the weight up
