How to do it
Lie flat on a bench holding an EZ bar with a narrow overhand grip, arms extended above your chest. Bend your elbows to lower the bar toward your forehead, keeping your upper arms vertical, then extend your elbows to press the bar back up. The angled EZ bar grip eases wrist strain while isolating the triceps.
- 1Lower the EZ bar toward your head and feel a stretch in your triceps
- 2Extend your elbows to press the bar up, squeezing your triceps at the top
- 3Keep your upper arms stationary and your core engaged for stability
Common mistakes
- Don't flare your elbows or move your arms at the shoulder joint
- Avoid lowering the bar too far behind your head; stay in a safe range
- Don't arch your back or let your wrists collapse
