How to do it

Lie back on an incline bench holding an EZ bar with a close grip on the angled bends, arms extended over your chest. Keeping your upper arms fixed and angled slightly back, bend at the elbows to lower the bar toward your forehead or just behind your head. Extend your elbows to press the bar back up and squeeze your triceps at the top.

  1. 1Feel your triceps stretch and load as the bar lowers behind your head
  2. 2Keep your upper arms still so only your forearms move
  3. 3Squeeze your triceps to drive the bar back to full extension

Common mistakes

  • Don't let your elbows flare wide or drift around
  • Avoid lowering the bar too fast near your face
  • Don't use your shoulders to help press the weight up
