How to do it
Place parallettes on a raised surface and set up in a pike with your feet elevated and hands gripping the bars, hips high overhead. Lower your head below the level of the parallettes by bending your elbows, taking advantage of the deficit for a deeper stretch, then press back up. The elevated feet and deficit make this a high-difficulty shoulder press.
- 1Your shoulders and triceps driving the press
- 2A deep shoulder stretch as your head drops below your hands
- 3Hips stacked high and core tight in the inverted V
Common mistakes
- Don't flare your elbows out wide
- Avoid letting your hips drop or your back round
- Don't lose grip control on the parallettes at the bottom
