How to do it
Set up in a plank with hands gripping dumbbells in an underhand position and feet wide for balance. Row one dumbbell toward your hip while stabilising with the other arm, keeping your hips square, then lower and alternate sides.
- 1Feel your lats and biceps drive the row while your core stops your hips
- 2rotating
- 3Pull the dumbbell back toward your hip, leading with your elbow
- 4Keep a strong plank with your hips square to the floor
Common mistakes
- Do not let your hips sway or your lower back sag during the row
- Avoid twisting your torso or using momentum to lift the weight
- Do not rush; control both the pull and the lowering
