How to do it
Hold a dumbbell in each hand and hinge at the hips with a flat back, arms hanging down with palms facing forward in an underhand grip. Pull the dumbbells toward your waist by driving your elbows back, squeeze your back, then lower under control.

Common mistakes
- Rounding the back out of the hinge
- Shrugging or yanking with momentum instead of rowing
