How to do it
Stand with feet hip-width apart and the weight over the mid-foot. Hinge at the hips and bend your knees to grip the weight with a flat back. Lift the weight by extending your hips and knees, then lower it back down under control.
- 1Stand over the barbell anchored in a landmine attachment and hinge at your hips to grip the end, feeling your hamstrings and glutes load
- 2Keep your back flat and chest up as you drive through your heels to stand, feeling the weight track close to your body
- 3Squeeze your glutes at the top and control the descent back to the start
Common mistakes
- Don't round your back or let your shoulders slouch forward
- Avoid pulling with your arms; the drive should come from your hips and legs
- Don't hyperextend at the top; stand tall with a neutral spine
Muscles worked
