How to do it
Stand facing away from a low pulley with the handle in one or both hands, cable running between your legs. Keeping a slight bend in the elbow, raise your arm straight in front to shoulder height against the cable, then lower with control.
- 1The front delt lifting the handle to shoulder height
- 2Constant tension from the cable through the whole range
- 3Your core braced and shoulders down as you lift
Common mistakes
- Swinging the arm or lifting above shoulder level
- Shrugging the shoulder or leaning back to start the lift
- Locking the elbow; keep a soft bend throughout
