How to do it
Set an incline bench between two low cable pulleys and lie chest-down with your back supported, holding a handle in each hand. With thumbs up and a slight bend in your elbows, raise both arms at a 45-degree angle into a Y shape until your hands reach shoulder level, then lower slowly.
- 1Your lower traps and rear delts engaging as your arms form the Y
- 2Thumbs pointing up with a slight bend kept in the elbows
- 3A controlled lower that keeps tension on the cables
Common mistakes
- Going so heavy you shrug or arch off the bench
- Letting the handles drift out of the Y line
- Using momentum instead of moving deliberately
