How to do it

Set two low cable pulleys and sit on an incline bench facing the machine with your back supported against the pad. Grab the opposite-side handles so the cables cross in front of you, arms extended forward, then pull them out and back in a wide arc as you squeeze your shoulder blades. Control the handles back to the stretched position.

  1. 1Feel your rear delts driving your arms back in a wide arc
  2. 2Squeeze your shoulder blades together at the end of each rep
  3. 3Keep your back pinned to the pad and your elbows soft

Common mistakes

  • Do not bend your elbows to turn it into a row
  • Do not shrug your shoulders up toward your ears
  • Do not let the cables pull your arms forward too fast; control the return
