How to do it
Hold a water bottle in each hand at your sides. With a slight bend in your elbows, raise your arms out to the sides until they reach shoulder height, leading with your elbows. Lower under control and repeat.
- 1Feel your side delts working as you lift the bottles to shoulder height
- 2Lead with your elbows and keep a slight bend in your arms
- 3Lower slowly to keep tension on the shoulders
Common mistakes
- Don't swing or use momentum to fling the bottles up
- Avoid shrugging your shoulders toward your ears
- Don't raise your arms above shoulder height
