How to do it
Stand on the middle of a resistance band holding a handle or the band in each hand with an overhand grip, knuckles facing forward. Keeping your elbows close to your sides, curl your hands up toward your shoulders against the band's tension, then lower slowly. Keep your wrists firm and straight throughout.
- 1Feel your forearms and brachialis working as you curl with palms down
- 2Keep your elbows pinned to your sides and wrists locked straight
- 3Squeeze at the top where the band tension peaks, then lower slowly
Common mistakes
- Do not swing or use your shoulders; keep the motion at the elbows
- Avoid letting your wrists bend or roll under the band's pull
- Do not lean back or let your elbows drift forward as you curl
