How to do it
Lie chest-down on an incline bench with a resistance band anchored below and a handle in each hand, arms hanging straight. With thumbs up and a slight bend in your elbows, raise your arms at a 45-degree angle to form a Y, squeezing your shoulder blades. Lower slowly against the band.
- 1Your lower traps and rear delts engaging as you raise into the Y
- 2Your thumbs pointing up with a slight bend held in the elbows
- 3A pause and squeeze at the top before lowering slowly
Common mistakes
- Using a band so heavy you shrug or arch your back
- Letting your hands drift out of the Y line
- Using momentum instead of controlled movement
Muscles worked
