How to do it

Stand on a resistance band and grip an end in each hand with your arms at your sides. Raise your arms straight out in front of you to shoulder height with palms down, then lower under control. Keep a slight bend in your elbows throughout.

Common mistakes

  • Don't swing your arms or lift above shoulder level
  • Avoid shrugging your shoulders or leaning back to raise the band
  • Don't lock your elbows; keep a soft bend
