How to do it

Loop a resistance band in an X across your shins or thighs and stand in a quarter-squat. Step sideways against the band tension, keeping constant pull, then step the trailing foot in and repeat down the line.

  1. 1Feel the outside of your hips and glutes working against the band
  2. 2Stay low in a quarter-squat the whole set
  3. 3Keep tension on the band; never let it go slack

Common mistakes

  • Don't let your knees cave inward as you step
  • Avoid bobbing up and down between steps
  • Don't let the trailing foot snap in; control it
