How to do it
Stand tall facing a wall with both hands resting on it for support. Swing one leg side to side across the front of your body, letting it travel out to the side and back across the midline in a controlled arc. Keep your hips square and torso upright throughout.
- 1An opening through the inner and outer hip as the leg swings across
- 2Your adductors and outer hip working through the range
- 3Your hips staying square while the leg does the moving
Common mistakes
- Rotating your hips or torso to gain extra range
- Swinging too aggressively before the hip is warmed up
- Letting your standing leg drift or buckle
